COMMUNITY FUND

DIARY

We are long-term supporters of Sandwell Young Carers. It is a charity based in West Bromwich which provides help and support for children and young people under the age of 18 whose lives are restricted by the need to take responsibility for another person.

This may be because they are chronically ill, have a disability, are experiencing mental distress, are affected by alcohol and/or substance misuse or are elderly or infirm.

SANDWELL YOUNG CARERS

A. & A. Walters are proud to be able to continue supporting local schools and local registered charities as part of our ongoing community project. This fund was set up in 2008 with the intention of putting something back into the local community and contributes to many worthwhile causes each year.

Supporting the Community

If you know of any local registered charities that would appreciate our support then please write to us and we will see what we can do to help.

Each year, local primary schools are invited to apply for a grant up to the value of £300 to fund something with the aim of either educating, inspiring or rewarding their pupils for their efforts throughout the year.

Fourteen local primary schools benefitted from the Community Fund last year.

LOCAL SCHOOLS

Our chosen charity for our 'Christmas Tree of Remembrance' in 2016 is the Acorns Childrens Hospice (Walsall). This wonderful organisation provides care and support for children with life limiting or life threatening conditions and their families.
