Our large Chapels of Rest are beautiful airy rooms where family members can pay their last respects. Each of our Chapels have been sympathetically decorated in warm colour schemes and have specially commissioned stained glass windows. Should you prefer not to have the cross displayed then please ask and it shall be removed.
We have a range of veneered and solid wood coffins complete with fittings available for inspection.
Occasionally families wish to have a keepsake to help commemorate the passing of their loved one. We have a wide selection of such keepsakes ranging from miniture wooden caskets to porcelain vases to leather bound books for photographs and special letters. Please ask for details.
For small gatherings (up to 10 people) we are able to offer a private room either for families to meet before or following the funeral service. We are able to provide buffets for such gatherings. Please ask for details.
A & A Walters prides itelf on being one of the first local Funeral Directors to re-introduce the horse-drawn hearse, returning to the very traditional and striking look of the Victorian Funeral procession. The hearse, complete with etched glass windows has become very popular and is a fitting tribute to a loved one. To complement the horse-drawn hearse a motorised flower hearse is also provided free of charge (subject to availability.)
Hygienic treatment is an additional service that aids the preservation of the body from the time that the body comes into the care of the Funeral Director until the time of committal. This procedure is not undertaken without the consent of the family.
Motorcycle with sidecar Hearse
As an alternative to the standard motorised hearse, A & A Walters are able to provide a customised motocycle with sidecar hearse. Designed to meet the needs of the motocycle enthusiast this is becoming increasingly popular and is a fitting tribute to a loved one.
We are happy to help you write obituary notices and submit them to the local or national press on your behalf.
Whatever your requirements we are able to design an order of service to your exacting specification. Whether you prefer twenty copies of a simple folded sheet in back and white or two-hundred copies on card incorporating coloured photographs with inserts we can help.
At A & A Walters we are highly respectful of religious customs and so are able to provide a private cleansing room for families to undertake ritual cleaning and preparation of their loved one if so desired.
Our experienced staff are able to support you by completing all necessary paperwork and transportation to ensure the safe and dignified transfer of a person from one country to another. This may be necessary following a death abroad or where a family wish to have the funeral service in a different country.
